Six cello students of Jerry Yarovich, along with one violin student of Susan Knapp, performed in a recital on February 24, 2008 at First Church Congregational. Mr. Yarovich's high school students received superior ratings at the OMEA solo and ensemble competition which was held in January.

The cellists performed movements from the following: Bach Cello Suites I, II, and V; Sonata in C Major by Jean-Baptiste Breval; Concerto #4 in G Major by George Goltermann; and, La Cinquantine by G. Marie.

The ten year old violinist, Matt Gittins, performed "The Infant Paganini," Fantasia, by Edward Mollenhauer. After having auditioned, Matt was accepted to perform in the Geauga County Maple Festival Concert on March 29th, at 7:00p.m. His performance was well received by an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.

On Saturday, April 12th, Mackenzie Martin and Taylor Pitts, violin students of Susan Knapp, each performed "Gavotte in G minor" by Johann Sebastian Bach at the OMEA junior high school solo and ensemble competition. Both violinists received "Superior" ratings on their performances. Mackenzie will be performing the piece on the April 20th recital, 3:00 p.m., First Church Congregational, 22 Liberty St., Painesville. The performance is open to the public.

On both May 14th and 15th, Emily Sanders, violin student of Susan Knapp, performed for the Enrichment Center students at The Andrews Osborne Academy. The children were very attentive, and captivated by Emily's performance.
